in the Tax and Title Industry

Meet "Mrs. Terry"
Putting My 21 Years of Experience
to Work
I have been serving our great community for the last 21 years in the Gilchrist County Tax Collector’s Office. I have enjoyed working with each and every individual in and around our County.

Hired by the Honorable Winfred “Wimpy” Welch on January 2, 1999, in the delinquent tax department, gaining experience not only in the tax department, but in the tag and title, hunting and fishing and all other areas of the office.

In 2011, I became the Assistant Tax Collector under the direction of the Honorable Marilyn Bruce, who shared with me her vast knowledge of taxes, I continued in the roll of Assistant Tax Collector under the direction of the Honorable Barbara Merritt, who shared with me her incredible knowledge of tag and title. Being able to work closely with all of the great leaders that our County has had in the Tax Collector’s Office has given me a leading edge of experience that will enable the Tax Collector’s office to continue to move forward with excellent customer service and innovative up to date service that our community well deserves.

I have served as Chair Person for the North Florida Tax Coalition since 2017. This is a group of knowledgeable and experienced employees from Tax Collector’s office across North Florida who along with many other duties, help to give input in re-writing the Florida Statutes that affect your Taxes.

I am certified by the State of Florida as a Certified Florida Collector’s Assistant for the years 2007 – 2020. After the Honorable Barbara Merritt resigned on February 2nd, 2019, I tentatively served in her stead as the Interim Tax Collector until the Governor appointed someone to the Office on July 26th, 2019.

Now the choice is yours.
